Date with the FIL

I had a date with my favorite Clemson fan last night. That would be my father-in-law Nick. We went to the locals favorite Esso Club for beers and wings and then headed to the Clemson vs VA game. I was a terrible supporter/wife this year and this was my first game this season and Clemson's last. I hope to do better next year!

a little blurry...

Brent was at the game. We got to visit with him at the Esso Club after the game too! Blurry too!

It was senior night at the game. I cried, I have no idea why. Drew is standing in front of the team... Purple shirt, kakki pants with paper in back pocket.

SNOW DAY in March!

Well it snowed, and snowed, and snowed some more at our house yesterday. We think we got about 5 inches... that's a lot for SOUTH CAROLINA!!! We didn't have electricity from about 9pm until 2 am last night. Tyrone let us know it was back on by barking and crying once the light in the kitchen came on :) We have had fun outside playing with the dogs... they have no idea what to think of all this mess. Jackson has had a few fits over his ball getting snow all over it and Tyrone tried to swim. That's a snow day for you from the Cawood house!

Not the smartest dog on the block...

Shorts and gloves. Makes sense to me!

Soup Day!

For some reason Blogger is making my pics small? Anyway...

Today in anticipation of the snow that is coming to SOUTH CAROLINA (it is dumping snow now!!!) Drew decided to make his famous chicken noodle soup. Drew cooks one thing and one thing only-Chicken Noodle Soup- and it is soooo good! He s a great griller but the man stays away from the kitchen :) Apparently while I was gone on one of my trips he saw Paula Dean talk about how she uses a "Bachelor Bird" (that is my word for it) cooked chicken from the grocery store when making her soup. Drew normally boils his. He decided to try Paula Dean's way this time and his exact words were; "Paula Dean is amazing!" I about peed in my pants. We had the dogs in b/c it was so cold so they helped a little too...

25 random things!

I did this for Facebook and thought it would be fun to post here too:

25 Random Things:

1. I am the middle child in my family

2. My brother and I were both adopted. I look exactly like my dad's side of the family. I truly believe God placed me in the Berry family for a reason.

3. I am addicted to chapstick and have been for 10 years

4. I am a terrible speller. I am sure there will be 20 things spelled wrong on this "note".

5. I met my husband online. I dated enough jerks in TN and had enough of the regular dating scene. One of my girlfriends met her husband online and talked me into doing it. It worked! I married my best friend.

6. I am so blessed to have the same girlfriends I have had for 25 years! I have a great group of girlfriends as well in Knoxville. The one thing I miss the most about TN is my GIRLFRIENDS!

7. I am a clean freak however my car is never clean and I never make our bed. I leave those two things to my husband Drew.

8. I am a bit of a hypochondriac.

9. I worry constantly. See #8

10. I love to travel. Hawaii is my favorite vacation spot.

11. I still throw fits if I don't get my way.

12. I have bought 4 houses on my own. The last house I bought was before I got married. Darn it if I cannot seem to sell it.

13. My relationship with my husband is amazing. He shows me what true love is every day.

14. We have been through hell and back this year but we know we will get through it as long as we have each other!

15. I long to be a Mom one day and pray God blesses me very soon.

16. My dad is one of 11 kids. I have 23 first cousins. We have such a close family and it rocks!

17. I'm obsessed with Pottery Barn

18. I hate to work out. Call me lazy if you wish. I just don't enjoy it!

19. I hate to cook as well. I really want to like it but I end up burning everything so I usually just give up when it comes to the kitchen. Drew hates condiments- sour cream, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, cream cheese, etc.-- maybe that is why I hate cooking??? He won't eat a darn thing!

20. I love my two labs like they are humans.

21. I love medical TV shows. I always wanted to be a doctor but was too lazy to pursue it.

22. Jon & Kate Plus 8 and House Hunters are my favorite TV shows. I even have the husband watching them!

23. My favorite meal (since I was a child) is hot dogs and mac and cheese!

24. I have never liked going to the movies. I don't have the attention span to sit through them. The last 3 months Drew and I have gone to the movies once a week. I don't know if I like the movies or the popcorn better!

25. I am so blessed to have an amazing husband, family, and friends. Love you all!

Someone else has a change in attitude!

Tyrone has decided to be sweet again. He is still a bully but at least he isn't eating dog beds at the rate of 1 per day!

Visitors and attitude adjustments!

RENA came to visit me this weekend! Drew headed to Vegas for a bachelor party so it was the perfect time for me to have an ALL girls weekend. We went downtown to some great restaurants, rented chick flicks, graded her 5th graders papers, and just caught up. Thanks for coming to see me Rena Shae!!!! This is the one and only picture we took. The two of us drinking our dinner at Rosie's Mexican Restaurant.

Have you ever been mad at God? I am going to admit that I have been VERY mad at God lately. I know that is so wrong but I feel like Drew and I have been screwed with a capital S in so many ways this year. I was so angry all week and had such a rough few days, and most of all a bad attitude. When I came home from my trip to CT on Thursday night I came home the below- flowers, wine, and my favorite cupcakes. My sweet husband surprised me once again! Now all of this stuff is so nice but it was the card that he wrote that meant the most to me. At the moment I read it I was no longer mad at God. I had such a calm feeling.... a feeling of freedom. How could I be so mad when I am so BLESSED to have the most amazing man as my husband? If everything in this world turns upside down, I still have Drew next to me. That is amazing! So there you have it. I am no longer mad at God ... He has a plan for everything and it's about time I give it up to him! So I am....

What's been going on....

Here is the scoop:

Drew bought me the roses on January 29. Today is February 16 and they are still alive. I cannot believe it! Most roses die within a week. These are our miracle roses. They make me smile everyday.

My dad and Sara sent me these flowers on Friday. Aren't they pretty? When times are tough you can always count on good ole dad to make you smile :)

We headed to Wild Dunes for Valentine's Day. We ate at some great restaurants and just relaxed. The beach is fixed so we took some pics of that. We cannot wait to go back Memorial Weekend for a week. Our new tradition we started last year.

It was freezing!

A couple of weekends ago I went to the circus with Kristy, Julie, and Sam. I think it is my last time going to the circus for a while. It wore me out and I just wasn't into this year.

Cute Sam

We hosted a Superbowl wedding shower for our friends Brent and Whitney. Have you ever done such a thing for a shower? It was really fun and different idea.

These two idiots that can't seem to stay out of the pool now that the temps hit 65. Hmmmm. I believe the thermometer in the pool is still reading 45. I don't think this girl will be swimming anytime soon!

Lots of babies! Two of my friends had babies this week. My friend Joy had a little boy on 2/14 and my friend Jennie had a little girl today! That makes me smile!

Heading out with the TIGERS!

Drew just left to board the Clemson team plane to head to Boston for a few days. Clemson plays Boston College tomorrow night and my sweet husband is going with the team. He is so excited! I am in Boston once a month so it shows you how well we communicate about our schedules. Where will I be this week... Washington D.C. Darn it! Look for him on TV! Have fun Drew!!!!

NO he didn't!!!!

Tyrone is officially in the dog house! We went to dinner last night and came home to this!!!! This damn dog is 5 years old going on 6 months! You thought I was kidding when we called him Marley. He is SOOOO BAD!

Tyrone left his bed alone and did a number on Jackson's bed. Seriously?

Now he sleeps on the porch sans a soft dog bed. IDIOT DOG!

Blog Slacker...

I have been a total blog slacker lately. It's not that I have been doing nothing, but instead too much. Last week I was in Boston- I took ZERO pics of the TONS of snow. This week I was in Knoxville for work. I took ZERO pics of the fam and of my lunch visits with various friends. Terrible!
The big news in our house was that Drew and I refinanced our house and closed yesterday! Whoo hooo.. not really. Not near as exciting as when you first buy. The not so exciting news... we are now paying an additional $100/month to make sure in this crazy economy we don't end up like all the other crazy people with adjustable mortgages. We went from interest only adjustable to a 30 year fixed- 4.875% rate so I cannot complain. We went to dinner after and came home to Tyrone Cawood aka Marley's HUGE destruction! Yes Mam the damn dog ate another dog bed. Drew actually added foam to the dog beds this week to give our sweet babies more padding. Tyrone didn't appreciate Jackson having more padding so he decided to eat his bed. I swear one day I am going to have one DEAD dog! Of course I whipped out the camera for this ( a little late as the porch and yard were covered in foam before the pics.)

For now I am dead in the bed with a bad cold. Tomorrow we are hosting a Superbowl wedding shower. Please let me feel better or I am going to be one large party pooper!

Boring old Gramma and Grandpa

Drew and I have been taking it easy lately. He has been working his tail off traveling to and from Charleston with his new College of Charleston account. I keep asking him if we can move there tomorrow. He just grins. I have been taking up shop in my office the last 2 weeks. I know Drew is soooo ready for me to hit the road so I will quit telling him to do laundry and take his shoes off. :) I am heading to Boston on Wednesday next week. Hmmm I think it is 5 degrees there right now. YUCK! I am then off to TN, VEGAS BABY, Washington DC, PA, and CT. I'll be on the road the next 6 weeks. Urrrgh! So that is it these days from the Cawood house.

For now I am going to dream about being here! Maui, Hawaii

"Tyrone and Me"

Drew and I went to see the movie "Marley and Me" Christmas night with his family. We kept saying the day it came out we HAD to go see it, so we did! Just as we thought, our lovely sweet Tyrone acts just like Marley. As a matter of fact Drew has decided lately to start calling him Marley. We loved the movie but CRIED like babies. We looked like we had just been to each others funerals when we left the theater. It was so sad. All Drew could keep saying was,"that's my dog, that's my dog." Needless to say when we got home we had a better appreciation for our four legged children. I thought I would post some of our "Marley and Me" pictures.

Just like the movie our Marley will jump in any kind of water that he sees- bathtubs, pools, lakes...
Marley at the vet. He HATES the scale and it takes 9 people to get him on the thing.

Marley attacking guests when they swim in "his" pool

Getting stuck in our new deck as it was being built

Marleytaking Drew's St. Patrick's Day hat off his head

Marley in his Halloween costume

Marley eating his Halloween costume

Marley sitting like a human on our outdoor furniture

Marley acting like a fool jumping on our counter tops

Hoping for a burger or a hot dog

This dog can make me madder than anything but when you look at his sweet face you cannot help but love his crazy self. Go see the movie! It is great for dog lovers. Bring your tissues....

More fun blogs about our Tyrone can be found by searching "Tyrone" in the search box at the top of the blog on the right.
