Mother's Day... My first!

We went to TN last weekend to celebrate Mother's Day! I was so excited this year and couldn't wait for the day to get here! After so much pain to become a mother this was the icing on the cake. My dad just had open heart surgery so I think it got his spirits up to see Sloane as well.

Drew with the ladies

Sloane is focused on Charlie the bulldog in the left corner. Remember he is obsessed with Sloane!

Sitting like such a big girl

Mother's Day before we had lunch

Sloane flirted with my dad all weekend. It was really hysterical. My poor dad looks like he has an enormous belly here. He would kill me for putting this pic up! He has 30 pounds of water weight from the surgery. Poor Grandad! Drew gave him about 30 T-shirts and he is sporting one here from Clemson. I thought he was a TN fan? hmmm...

Sloane is teething so we froze a washcloth. You would have thought she died and went to heaven! She and my mom were soaked when she was done getting her fix.

Flirting with Grandad again

Pics in the backyard. I love this one!

too bad I have an ugly ponytail but the babe looks adorable!

Photo Shoot!

I love taking pictures of Bug. I have been trying to learn how to use my camera and I think I am finally getting the hang of it. Here are some I took this past Friday.

Love the thighs!

4 months old...

Our sweet baby girl is growing up fast. She turned 4 months old 2 weeks ago and we celebrated by starting cereal. She loves it! At first she will act like she hates it and by the thrid bite she is trying to steal the spoon. Love this little chub!

Sloane meets the Berry Family...

A few weekends ago we took a VERY long car ride to MS to celebrate a surprise 50th birthday party for my Aunt Margaret. It was the first time for my Grandmother to meet Sloane as well as all several of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. A crawfish boil was the theme.

Uncle Joey, Mimi, random, and Great Aunt Kendahle

Sloane has started to pull up her shirt or dresses a lot lately. It is funny when she has a bare belly. I have been keeping her in bubbles lately b/c it is so hot and she gets mad b/c there is nothing to lift up :)

My cousin Brooke and Aunt Beth

My Mom's Mom, my grandmother, and Sloane's only Great Grandparent. My sweet Aunt Sue drove all the way from Houston so my Grandmother could meet Sloane. Thanks Aunt Sue!!!

My cousin Katie who didnt let Sloane down all weekend

It's FINAL

On Monday, April 26, 2010 our adoption became FINAL. It was such a special day for us. Drew's Mom joined as well. Like Sloane's birth it was a little nerve wracking for a few minutes. The judge was 45 minutes late and I kept worrying he would never show up! He did and ended up being the nicest man. At the end when he is supposed to announce everything is final he told us to wait and called my MIL back into the chambers. She came out in his robe and got to say to saying ... "the State of SC hear by grants you this adoption"... It was really special.

After it was final! We were so excited!

My MIL Sandy announcing it was final. Her facial expression is priceless...

Our adoption lawyer Ray Godwin. We owe him everything for bringing this baby girl into our lives!

Waiting not so patiently for the hearing to start

When we got home these beautiful flowers were waiting on us from Rena. She is so thoughtful and so special to us. She is also going to be Sloane's Godmother along with my friends Shannon and Whitney.
