It's that time of year....

It's that time of year that my husband loves and I become slightly irritated. Yep, packed up the car on Thursday and headed to the South Carolina game. Humidity- 110%. Drew- thrilled, Me- said I was going to get a coke and proceeded to leave the stadium, catch a cab, and go back to our hotel. Football in Columbia, SC in August is MISERABLE!!!! I am a great tailgater, I have learned to make some good tailgating food, I have fun things to serve it on, BUT when the tailgating is over I am over it. Drew told me I am banned from attending anymore SC games. I guess he didn't like the MIA action I pulled on Thursday. Oops :)

USC vs NC State game.

Tailgating!

On Saturday night we went to 2 different parties to watch the Clemson game. I was on good behavior and did not preform an MIA stunt. Thanks Lucas and Jessica and Sam for the great parties! No pics.. forgot the camera.

On Sunday night we went to Anderson Balloon Fest. Drew's folks were working the event but lucky for us we just had to stop by and make an appearance. Drew has some great people that work for him so this holiday we got to spend together.

So what's in store for this week??? SC game Thursday night at Vanderbilt. We were going but canceled today when we realized it was 6 hours away. Whew.. ! Saturday Drew works and I have my standing date with this guy:

a true Clemson fan. My father-in-law.

Hanging around the house... FINALLY!

There is no place like home... Drew and I have not been home during the weekend since July 12... 6 weeks! So this weekend we were determined to stay around. We did have a little begging from Whitney who was in Bristol for the NASCAR race (Drew is a redneck and loves NASCAR) however we prevailed and stayed home. We decided on Saturday morning to head to Lowes and buy bags upon bags of mulch and a pressure washer so we could clean up our backyard and "dog house". Yes the dogs have taken over the not so cheap porch addition and have claimed it as their home. So after hours of cleaning, scrubbing off mud and dog hair we HAD a clean porch once again! We decided to show it off b/c we knew it wouldn't last (already nasty as of today) and had some friends over for a cookout. On Sunday we took the boat out. We have only taken it out 3 times this whole summer.. ridiculous! The first 2 times it poured rain and yesterday it was a not so beautiful day of black clouds. Oh well, we did it and I can say we used it!

A weekend in K-Vegas...

This past weekend we went to Knoxville for my friend Cyndie's wedding. I use to call on Cyndie when she was a designer and I love her so much that I begged her to come work for me in TN. Now she has come over to my side of the industry and is shlucking tile all around TN. :) We stayed out in Phili (Philadephia, TN) at the farm while we were in town. My crazy mother has brought yet another dog home. Baby Charlie is an 11 week old English Bulldog and he is the cutest thing you have ever seen. I BEGGED Drew to go and get one while we were in town. haha. I guess he doesn't love me b/c I came home without a baby :) Yes I am terrible and told him that all weekend... Geeze I am terrible!

Baby Charlie
Maggie thinks Charlie is her baby. They are inseperable and play non stop.

I love this baby!

Olympics...

Drew and I went to Atlanta this weekend to visit with the fam. We had an opening ceremonies party on Friday night. We all crashed out on the couch, drank wine, ate pizza, and "talked" about all the teams outfits. Whew some were a little scary :)

On Friday Drew kept complaining that his eye was bothering him. Needless to say he has BAD allergies and his eye bothers him at least once a month. So I guess you could say I have heard his song and dance and maybe I have lost some sympathy.. not a very sweet wife. When we got to Atlanta Helen looks at me and says she is scared he is going to loose an eyeball! ha! Nick was right there with her giving me 2 different kinds of eye drops. I kept saying..."his eye always does this and he is fine". (By this time it was half way closed and he was looking a little frightening. ) Well I guess I should have listened to his parents b/c poor Drew was not fine. He was up ALL night moaning and groaning about his eye. Nick probably sensed it b/c at 8am he took Drew to the doctor. Again, terrible wife. Well the poor hubby has conjunctivitis and got a shot and went home with 4 different medications! He also got to go back to the doctor this morning.. again with his sweet father at 7:45am. Moral of the story.. I guess I need to listen to my "dying" husband next time. Why are men such babies when they are sick???? Team USA!!!

crashing on the couch. Pam and Great Day came to watch as well. Great Day aka Greg always says "great day in the morning!". He is so great and the Cawood clan gave him his nick name.

All the girls plus Nick went to his favorite spot... his foot massage place. Nick always tells me about this place so I had to see it for myself. Here he is dozing... :)

A wedding... Hollywood style

Drew and I went to Sparta, GA last weekend for his best friend from high schools wedding. Matt and Megan had had their wedding at Matt's parents lake house. It was such a unique, beautiful wedding. They did a picnic theme for the food, served cold drinks out of kayaks, and had Matt's mother's famous cookies and ice cream instead of a cake. Drew remembered them from high school! It was so fun! I didn't realize until we got there that the bride's sister is on One Life to Live and the groom's sister Molly was the chef for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes this year.

I'm loosing control!!!

I'm cheap and when it comes to paying for things like a lawn boy and a maid I have a hard time with it. Why should I pay someone to do things around my house that I am perfectly capable of handling? Well I found the answer... b/c I hate doing it and the last thing I want to do is pull weeds and mop floors! We had a lawn boy the last 2 years when we had a yard the size of nothing. Now we live on 1.25 acres and I don't have one... stupid! I'm throwing in the towel, opening my purse and paying for a maid and a lawn boy! Drew will still cut the yard (b/c he loves it ...crazy) but I have GOT to have someone weed eat, pull weeds, spray for whatever the heck is crawling around outside, and give me a break! And second to that..a maid to clean up the dirt that follows my dogs and husband around!

Currently I have these in 4 places around the yard! Fire ants!!!

And this is everywhere!

Oh and to add to the crazy mood I am in... I ate this tonight. Yep, by myself. The damn cake topper has been in the freezer for over a year. I was tired of it taking up an entire shelf! Aren't you suppose to eat it on your anniversary? yep, not my husband. He'd rather puke than eat year old cake. I on the other hand love cake and will eat one that is 5 years old if it is in front of me. Well I took 7 bites and now I think I will puke. I guess that is why we have expiration dates on food... I am seriously sick! Lovely!
