Beach Issues...

Here are some CRAZY pics of the beach erosion issues. I thought these were worthy of their own post! It was amazing to see. They are bringing in sand 2 miles off shore through large tubes to save the beach. Crazy to see and VERY sad at the same time... Despite these pictures we really did have a nice vacation. This is only one area of the beach... our second place was very nice with no distruction.

The tubes bringing in sand
My chair. The dozer about took me out. It is not often you are laying out and a dozer drives by through the ocean :) Drew was playing golf while I damn near died!
View from our porch before they moved us to the house. Luckily at the house there were no erosion issues.. it was further down the beach.
18th hole at the Links golf course. It was there during our wedding tournament. Now it is gone!!!
Mom and Drew laughing at the old sign "keep off the dunes". There are NO dunes now!

Wild Dunes

Drew and I met in Wild Dunes on Memorial Day. We are now enjoying a much needed WEEKS vacation at the beach! I will post pics when we return on Monday!

HIlton Head to see WHITNEY!

While Drew worked on Sunday and Monday I headed to Hilton Head Island to visit Whitney and her family. It is only 3.5 hours away so it was the perfect way to get to see Whit! We had a great time on the beach and then ventured on the town (IN OUR SWIM SUITS!) to the Salty Dog Cafe and a few other bars. We had so much fun!

Salty Dog
At the Frog bar in our bathing suits... we thought we were just running out for a quick cocktail to the Salty Dog so felt no need to shower. We looked so gross! 4 hours later we were still out in our suits. :)

Her adorable nieces and nephews.

Freedom Weekend Aloft

Drew and I hard at work. I helped him in the VIP section on Saturday night. I actually had a great time!

Freedom Weekend's big "thing" is the hot air balloons. They were amazing!

Montgomery Gentry played on Saturday night. I got to go right up to the stage. Drew said NO pics while working...oops! I guess this is so blurry b/c I was nervous of getting in trouble by the husband :)

Getting Ready for Memorial Weekend

Since the hubby is in Event Management he works most of the large holidays! Last year he got a huge account called Freedom Weekend Aloft that happens to be in Simpsonville, SC. www.freedomweekend.org/ This year he had 75 people working for him Friday- Monday! On Thursday night we had most of his employees to the park for a BBQ and to go over all the weekend details...

So cool to see Drew's signs all over the park during the event....
Ben and Terry grilling up burgers and dogs!

Our good friends and old neighbors Lacy and Paul are having a baby Boy due on my birthday! We had a shower for Lacy in my old neighborhood on Sunday. She is adorble!

BMW Celebrity Golf Tournament

Drew and I went to the BMW Celeb Golf Tournament in Greenville on Saturday. We lucked out and got clubhouse passes from a friend so we were up close and personal with the celebs. It was beautiful outside so it was the perfect day! I got my picture taken with Dennis Quaid!!! We also saw Joe Pesci and Luke Wilson up close. Here are some pics of our fun day!

Outdoor changes....

We are making progress on the outside of the house. I have wanted our shutters painted since we moved in. Our wonderful painter, PONCHO (we LOVE him) recently had a baby and has been too busy to get back to the house to do them. Finally, he surprised us today and came to paint. I love them so much!!! Here they are in progress.... Old- grey. New- black

I have planted what seems like 9000 plants this weekend. Under trees, in flower boxes, front yard, back yard, etc. etc...Our 3 season porch is SLOWLY coming along. They had to redo the roof. Yep, they used the wrong size nails when they put the shingles up this week and they were all coming through to the inside. Brilliant folks working I tell you :) We are now on our second crew as the first crew decided they would stop showing up. NICE!!! I have to say that I do not recommend the company Archadeck. :(

Love the new fan! It is a "beachy" style.
I painted my wrought iron furniture from black to white today. Tyrone is white as well. Idiot dog once again :) I need to find some cute cushions to go in the chairs. I did have adorable black and white toile but Tyrone ate those last year. Hanging is one of the flower arrangements I did this weekend.
My favorite part of the porch is the dog ramp and door. How cute is this! Don't look at the dirty hardy board.. they still have to paint. The lattice will also be changed to white. The stuck the old up to keep Dumb and Dumber from going under. Sorry Mom.. they put the ramp right through the azaleas you and dad planted. Lovely!

Nick's favorite retreat and a pool party

On the road again.... Got off the plane, slept in my bed one night, and we were off again! Drew and I took a spur of the moment trip to visit the fam in Murphy, NC. Nick LOVES his mountain house and is always telling me how fabulous it is, so Drew and I decided to go visit Nick, Helen, and Madison on Saturday.
The MOUNTAIN HOUSE!!! Look who was waiting for us on the front porch dressed in his Clemson clothes from head to toe... Adorable!!! Nick had us all betting on horses while we watched the KY Derby. Guess who one? That would be ME!
Maddie and I begged for some ice cream when Nick was giving the tour of downtown Murphy.
Fat girl in a little shirt on top of a BIG mountain! So beautiful!
When we got home we had two furry children dying to play with us. We put our suits on and hit the pool. It was the FIRST time we have swam in the pool! About 500th time for Tyrone Cawood, but our first! Poor Drew now looks like he has been involved in a terrible mauling. He is covered in scratches from Tyrone jumping and trying to swim with him. We are working on "swim the other way Tyrone" you CRAZY dog. I tried my hardest to be sympathetic but if you saw Drew you would be hysterical. I'm talking 30 scratches all over his body :) hehe. I'm not laughing... straight face...

Jack even jumped in!

Coverings Tradeshow- Orlando, FL

Straight from K-Vegas to a week in Orlando for one of my company's largest trade shows- Coverings. It was a full week of standing on your feet, lots of blisters, after parties, no sleep, and lots of meetings=sales! As always I had a great time hanging with my work buddies!

Our booth- the back drop is our newest tile called LUMINAR. It looks like a record. So fabulous I must say!
Rich and I hanging in the booth.
me, Ann, Aldo (he lives in Peru), Amy, Andrea (he lives in Italy), and Joan

The CLICK!!! Kristy, Ann, me and Missy. Amy is missing. She is also a click member :) Inside joke for us work ladies.
hanging by the pool having cocktails the first night we arrived. Notice how terribly NASTY I look. This is coming off of my weekend of Granthams and no sleep!

My company hosted a huge party at the Portifino! So fun! 150 people of fun and lots of talking. Missy, me, and Ann

TriState Tile gals- Sue and Cyndie. Cyndie is actually a great friend that I begged to come work with me in the business. She took over for me in East and Middle TN as a sales rep. She has made my life 110% less stressful!
