Wild Dunes Beach Vacation!

We just got back from a wonderful beach vacation with Drew's Mom, his brothers, Erica, and Candace. It was so relaxing....

Sloane LOVED the sand. She hated the ocean at first but then learned to LOVE it.
The brothers had beers most days and enjoyed playing in the ocean and playing bocce ball.

Erica loved playing in the sand so she and Sloane were quite the pair. Uncle Mike liked it too.

After the first day we were all fried so we took a family trip to the Charleston Aquarium.

The ladies. Candace, me, Erica, and Nana

Uncles and Daddy showing Sloane the fish

Yep she pretty much was covered in sand daily.

She loved playing in the sand!

My favorite picture! So cute!

Uncle Matt and Candace bought Sloane popsicles. She was in heaven.

Daddy soon regretted this when he had a suit FILLED with sand.

Just happy as a clam

One night we went to Poe's Tavern and met Millie and Brad. Sloane loves a bar b/c she loves to people watch. Ha!

One day we went parasailing! This picture priceless.

The Charleston Crab House with Nana.

One night we went on a booze cruise! It was so pretty and we went all over Charleston.

Sloane loved that we set up her changing table on the dresser with a mirror. She became great "friends" with herself!

Chilling like a big girl!

Vacation

We just got back from a wonderful relaxing beach vacation in Wild Dunes with Drew's fam. I do have pics and maybe within the next month Ill take the time to download them. Our photographer (yes we are famous and all) from Greenville that we have used to take Sloane's prof pics happened to be in Charleston for some sessions. I hired her right up and we had some fun pics of our little fam and the extended fam. We got this one over Facebook today and I think I like it. I am thinking we will get the others a year from now b/c I told her she had to edit my fat arms, my spanx that were hanging below my dress, and my bra that was showing through the peep hole in my dress. I was a hot mess but everyone else looked great!

Update on Sloane: She has no teeth and with as much hair as she has she looks a little funny. The last 4 times we have been at restaurants she has been given a kids menu and crayons. I'd say she looks A LOT older than 8 months. Yep, our BIG girl with no teeth and a full head of hair that doesnt crawl. We love you Sloane... now getting moving SISTER!!!

Sloane the busy bee....

Sloane has been a very busy bee these days with all her "activities". The child has been on the go like a 16 year old lately. We went to Sloane's friend Sloan's 1st birthday party last Sunday. Yep, another Sloan(e)! Sloan's mommy and I have become friends and have a ball shopping for the girls together. It is trouble when we are together. The the party was a summer theme. Big water slides, baby pools, beach balls, and an ice cream truck! It was precious.

Sloane thought she died and went to heaven when we gave her some of our pink lemonade.

She chose a watermelon BOMB pop and LOVED it.

The cuties had the same suit on as Sloane. They wanted to be right next to her b/c they thought it was so fun they all matched. I actually think every southern mom bought this suit and had it monogrammed for their kids. Target baby!

All cleaned up and ready to head home.

KINDERMUSIK

I have been taking Sloane to Kindermusik for one of their summer camp sessions. To say she loves it is an understatement.

Some of her friends. As Drew said- there was a DUDE there? Ha! He was only in our class once. Brave guy!

This is another Sydney. She and Sloane love each other. Sydney also likes to steal Sloane's hairbows and run around the class with it in her hand.

"singing"

This pic will be perfect for her baby book. Ms. Karen her teacher.

jamin' with a maraca
We have started Gymboree too. Sloane cracks up when they have her go down the slides. Yes a 7 month old sliding is hysterical! Those pics to come....
Greenville Drive Baseball Game
We had all intentions of taking Bug to a Greenville Drive game but unfortunately we only made it as far as the bar next door. Sloane loves a bar b/c of all the people to look at. ha! She ate her dinner and was cashed. Better luck next time...
The pic you aren't seeing is the one where she stuck her hand in my beer...
Great pic of her with her BFF Daddy! Yes they are still smitten over each other. So cute!

Adult RELAXATION!!!

Drew and I made a pact on our first anniversary in Hawaii that we would spend our anniversary some place fabulous each year. First year was Maui, 2nd was Boston, and this year we did two trips- Bahamas and Grove Park Inn! Drew and I were in MAJOR need of a vacation without our princess. Sloane went to hang with GiGi, Pops, Aunt Maddie, and her uncles while Drew and I jet setted to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. We had a great 4 night, 5 day vacay!

When we got to the Atlantis we sweet talked the manager who checked us in into upgrading us. He upgraded us to the club level. Free breakfast, free DRINKS, and dessert every evening. By the end of our trip we knew all the folks that worked on the club level by name.
The Leap of Faith water slide. View from Club Level

One night before heading out to Mesa Grill. It was fabulous!

the resort

Yep the locals recommended this restaurant. After a few drinks on the club level we had to try it :) Needless to say it was great.

We decided after one day of riding water slides we were to old for lines and screaming kids. We went on a snorkeling adventure/booze cruise.

Rum punch was flowing...

View from our room. I loved watching the boats come in and out.

First night just hanging around the resort

Of course we found the casino and this crazy chair.

I will say we had a great time BUT there are a lot more nicer places that I would recommend instead of the Atlantis. We made the best of it but we were a little disappointed. The grounds weren't well kept and everything was way to expensive.

Unfortunately on July 28 our real anniversary I had to fly cross country with my boss. When I got home from my trip my sweet husband took me to Grove Park Inn for a night of fun and more relaxation. This time the princess was with Nana.

Never a good pic when someone is lower than you shooting up :)

We ventured to Sunset Grill for a wonderful steak dinner and romance. hehe

After dinner we hit the only "club". A dueling piano bar...Drew and I love these. Well if you were over 70 it was the place to be. We got hysterical and by the end of the night the piano guys were singing out about SC every other song. I think they knew we were the only young people in the joint that actually knew what to do at a dueling piano bar!

We end our trip at the spa for a couples massage and a few hours in their pools. It was 8:30 am and we were looking HOT in this pic! Since we were in Asheville we also got to visit my rents who were staying at their "summer cottage" for a few weeks. For some reason I never film those 2 nuts! It was my moms birthday so we had lunch with her and my dad and then went to Drew's family reunion in Brevard, NC. Those pics coming soon.

Stay tuned b/c the princess has gotten in on some fun too...Kindermusik, Gymboree, and yes another birthday party!
